Kenny Edwards, founder and head coach of League Kings Academy, brings a wealth of experience from his impressive 14-year career in professional rugby league. With nearly 200 first-grade NRL and Super League appearances, Kenny's journey through various leagues and teams has equipped him with extensive knowledge and understanding of the sport.
Beyond his prowess on the field, Kenny is deeply committed to promoting mental health and wellbeing. He is currently pursuing a Certificate IV in Elite Athlete Wellbeing Management from the Wellbeing Science Institute. This certification focuses on athlete mental health, career transition, and personal development, enhancing his ability to support athletes in both their professional and personal lives.
His work as an ambassador for Offload, a mental fitness project, highlights his passion for supporting men's mental health. In this role, Kenny engaged with players to promote mental fitness, developing coping strategies for challenging situations. He also volunteered at the Huddersfield Street Kitchen, serving the community and connecting with people from all walks of life.
As a leader, Kenny combines his professional insights with a deep commitment to youth development. His coaching philosophy extends beyond technical skill-building; it encompasses nurturing resilience, hard work, and integrity among young athletes. His approach ensures holistic growth, preparing players not only for success in rugby league but also as individuals in their community.
